Cooking for a family, while making family time

Listen up Mommy Spicers, no need to even finish this post, you’re going to want to run, not walk, to the nearest store and get these ASAP or just click the link below and have them delivered in 2 days! These containers are AMAZING.

Just so you know, I’ve linked some products and or ingredients I believe in and use myself, however I could collect a percentage of sales. At Mommy Spice we’re all a team in making meals and staying on budget and I hope you love the things I recommend as much as I do.

I had been wanting to check these out for quite some time, but thought the price was a little steep. I decided to broaden my horizons a little this summer and do a little product and ingredient research for the blog. Let me tell you, these are worth every penny! I was not only impressed with the results, but completely blown away. Never, have I ever had spinach and berries last for NINE, yes, nine days in my fridge!!

I don’t know about your kids but all 3 of mine share the same favorite fruit, strawberries. I buy them year round no matter the price and am always bummed when I end up throwing half the container away. Well those days are gone, this is going to save me a fortune in strawberries alone. Not to mention spinach and other salad greens. I had tried every trick in the book, placing a paper towel into the lettuce bag to help keep it fresh, mild vinegar wash on the berries, you name it, I tried it and this was the first thing to ever work. I washed and thoroughly dried everything before placing it into the container, or used one of those pre-washed bagged mixes and everything stayed fresh and ripe. Also having everything clean made snacking, cooking and packing lunches a breeze.

The only downside I have is that the large containers do not fit into my crisper and take up a good bit of space in my fridge. However, that being said, everyone’s fridge is different and they might fit better in yours. Also, much to my husband’s delight, our produce drawer has now become his beer drawer, a little reorganizing is no problem when my produce lasts a full week and half. Not to mention the health benefits I am getting from these containers as well. Don’t we all have the best intentions when we buy those bagged salad mixes? I don’t know about you guys but nine times out of ten I always ended up throwing away more than half the bag due to browning lettuce. I now buy the pre-washed salad mixes and just dump them into one of these containers as soon as I get home from the grocery store. I’ve had them last a full week, and now its a breeze to whip up a side salad with dinner, or pack a salad for lunch.
